Sincerity? An important word in today’s world? Is it part of our lives in the 21st century? Jesus in his commandment to love says that we must love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. It’s the kind of love that fills the soul and we continually rejoice in the grace of God. We encounter one of the greatest descriptions of that love in 1 Corinthians 13 St Paul says that faith and sincerity are linked because faith and love are linked.
It is easy to keep the rules, do everything right, without the heart of faith. It is possible to see but not actually observe that which truth is. It is also possible to hear but not to listen for it either. We have to be open to the Spirit to begin to encounter that truth. It is about knowing that we are alive to God. Faith is the very essence of the soul’s being.
We have to leave behind the illusion of worldly happiness. We must seek eternity in this very moment. We must seek our peace and wholeness in Christ. We must seek Him….
